July 11, 2005 -- THE SHADOW WALKERS WRAP AT GATES
The tunnels of Gates Rubber will again be safe for daywalkers: principal photography is now complete for the upcoming
horror feature, The Shadow Walkers. Denver-based Mostly Films, LLC has been shooting the film at the historic Denver landmark since early June.
The Shadow Walkers, directed by Mark Steven Grove, is a suspenseful story about workers who awaken, sealed in a
subterranean laboratory, with no memory. Hunted by horrifying creatures that haunt the twisting tunnels of the facility,
The Shadow Walkers exposes the origin of these creatures, the characters' relations to one another, and the sinister nature
of their work together.
The film features the action and stunt choreography of Grove's Asgard Entertainment. Grove has served in the past on such
projects as Mad Love (Drew Barrymore, Chris O'Donnell), 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain
(Hulk Hogan, Loni Anderson, Jim Varney, Victor Wong), Lonely Road, Fatal Revenge,
Warrior River, The Hunted (Christopher Lambert), and Highlander - The Series.
"This was a million square feet of spook haven. The dark, industrial interiors gave this film an unbelievably haunting look.
We'll miss this place!" says Executive Producer David A. Marchiori. Marchiori is Managing Director for Westar International, a
Denver-based movie investment company. He also executive produced the four-time Starz International Film Festival sellout,
Chick Flick, as well as Westword Magazine's Best Local Film 2004, Earthlings: Ugly Bags of Mostly Water.
The Shadow Walkers will be distributed by Hollywood's Shoreline Entertainment and is slated for release in fall of 2005.
June 15, 2005 -- CLAY ADAMS JOINS SHADOW WALKERS CAST
Clay Adams joins the cast of The Shadow Walkers, a film produced this summer in partnership with Shoreline Entertainment and Colorado's Mostly Films, LLC. Clay Adams, an actor currently based in New York City, will play the role of "Clay" - a talented researcher with a sinister aim of murder in the name of science.
In addition to his role in The Shadow Walkers, Clay Adams also stars in the thriller Bloodline, coming soon from Silver Nitrate Pictures and Lion's Gate Films. He plays several recurring roles on All My Children, As the World Turns and One Life to Live. In addition, he will provide the lead voice in a film from Academy-award winning animator, Daniel Kanemoto.
"Clay Adams brings an intensity, an edge, a cool insanity to this character. He is absolutely perfect for the role, and I am excited to have him on our team," says The Shadow Walkers' executive producer, Dave Marchiori
June 6, 2005 -- SHADOW WALKERS HAUNT THE TUNNELS OF GATES
Mostly Films, LLC and Cherokee Investments have inked a deal allowing the Colorado-based film production company to use the old Gates Rubber Company facility at 999 S. Broadway as the primary shooting location for the upcoming feature film, The Shadow Walkers.
The Shadow Walkers is a story about workers who awaken, sealed in a subterranean laboratory, with no memory. Hunted by creatures that haunt the twisting tunnels of the facility, The Shadow Walkers exposes the origin of these creatures, the characters' relationships to one another, and the sinister nature of their work together.
"The Gates facility is over a million square feet of dark, gloomy interiors, incredible old machinery, and is a spectacular backdrop for a horror movie. We've scouted locations all over Colorado, including an abandoned nuclear missile silo, but nothing could compare with the 'spook factor' of Gates," says Mostly Films Executive Director, David A. Marchiori.
The facility at Gates was originally just six lots of land purchased in 1914 by the Gates Brothers. Gates grew to become the sixth largest manufacturers of rubber in the world and was a major Denver employer for 85 years before it finally closed its doors. Cherokee Environmental is involved in the long-term plan for the Gates facility, which is eventual demolition, followed by construction of a new "urban village" where residents can easily walk, shop and enjoy common facilities.
"The Gates buildings are a fascinating part of Denver history. I am ecstatic to see them memorialized in our film," says The Shadow Walkers' executive producer, Dave Marchiori.
